With
the new Electrolux EL490A Oxygen 3 PlasmaWave air
is first filtered through a carbon pre-filter, then through a True HEPA filter,
and finally through the patented PlasmaWave. The Oxygen 3 air cleaner comes with
a remote control and sensors that automatically sense odors and adjust
the fan accordingly. This air purifier is also amazingly quiet: when set
to Sleep Mode, the EL490A Oxygen 3 produces a sound level of only 26.8 dB and
dims its lights for a peaceful night's sleep.

3-Stage Filtration
Stage 1:
As dirty air enters the cleaner, the carbon pre-filter traps large
particles and reduces odors, such as those caused by cigarette smoke,
cooking and even chemical vapors
Stage 2: The air then enters the true HEPA Filtration which captures 99.97% of dust, pet dander and
pollen in the air up to .3 microns - 300 times smaller than the diameter of a
human hair.
Stage 3: PlasmaWave generates negatively and positively charged
ions that combine with airborne water vapor to instantly neutralize
viruses and bacteria, chemical vapors, odors and gasses in the air.

PlasmaWave Technology
As
the filtered air exits the unit, it passes through a corona discharge (a type of
electric pulse), creating both negative and positive ions (plasma).
When plasma combines with water vapor in the air, hydroxyls are formed.
These hydroxyls bond with and neutralize remaining airborne pollutants -
including viruses, chemical gasses, bacteria and germs.
